What Steps Are You Taking To Getting Healthier?
I chuckled as I typed in the page title. Honestly, I asked myself the same question! What steps am I taking to getting healthier? I will be candid in this post. I am no avid runner or health buff, and neither am I an eat-your-vegetables- daily kinda girl! I do enjoy and have participated in many races--half marathons, 10K's, and 6K's. I have even participated in virtual races! I do find that the (virtual) races kept me disciplined and allowed me to challenge myself. Simply because, I cannot receive my medal (And I LOVE MEDALS!) until I show proof on the race app that my race is completed! I will also admit that I do not always eat healthy. I do splurge every once in a while and treat myself to a "nice treat" when I have behaved for a good period of time. (Lol) Truth is, I believe that we can eat certain (not all) things moderately (maybe once a week)! But I also believe that it is very important to maintain a healthy eating lifestyle and incorporate some form of exercise (at least 3x per week) in our life as well. Doing this, makes my life a bit more balanced and I tend to not feel deprived of any guilty pleasures I may wish to have at that time. But it takes discipline and self-control. Bottom line is, if we want to continue looking GREAT, then we have to keep our eating habits balanced and normal. Yes, it is my plan to eat more healthier and I do plan to increase my physical activities to do what is best to stay happy and healthy....simply because I deserve to be!
