Is Being Happy Overrated?

My answer is, No. Happiness is almost a national obsession these days. The self-help shelves of bookstores are filled with entries that promise to help you find or achieve happiness. I LOVE BEING HAPPY! I love happy people. Happiness is what keeps you young --at heart. But what does it really take to make YOU happy? The truth of the matter is, YOU are the only one who can make you happy. How you feel about yourself, what you think of yourself, and how you see yourself --- No one else knows you better than you. What you think, how you think, and how you feel (about yourself) will determine your happiness. Your next door neighbor, friend or relative can only share what they see. Often times, we put up a facade where "others" may think we are happy only to go home behind closed doors and cry our eyes out from how we "see" ourselves.

So find quiet times in the week for yourself, evaluate who you are, find new ways to love yourself, and begin "seeing" another more beautiful side to YOU.
