Be Open To New Relationships and Ventures!
Have you ever wondered why certain opportunities suddenly came your way or suddenly meeting someone of importance or with social status just out of the blue? Well I have. I often wondered why incredible and unexpected opportunities suddenly came my way. One example I will share. One late evening, I was browsing on social media. And on my timeline, I happened to see motivational speaker and talented actress of "Living Single", Kim Coles live streaming. I tapped onto the post and heard her mention that she is looking for 22 women authors to team up with her on a book she wish to publish called Open your G.I.F.T.S. When I heard her words, my mouth dropped from excitement! I thought to myself, "Well I am currently an author of a book and what an opportunity this would be for me! I don't know if another opportunity like this would come my way anytime soon!"
Now of course, I questioned the fact on whether I have extra funds to splurge on this opportunity. And of course the answer was, No! I went back and forth questioning with myself a few times for at least a good five minutes. Now while debating with my thoughts, I believe Kim Coles already had 20 women who had quickly jumped on the band wagon and responded to her live streaming post. I knew I had to come up with an answer... and right away! Time was of the essence and women were jumping at this opportunity with a quickness!! Please understand, in order to be a co-author on her book, a deposit was required. I said to myself, ,"Self, You are NOT going to get an opportunity like this again! So get out that credit card and put that deposit down!"
And that gesture was the beginning of forming wonderful relationships with wonderful women on our new book, Open Your G.I.F.T.S!
From this opportunity and also forming a sisterhood-- our book has made the BEST SELLERS LIST!! To God Be The Glory!
Recently, I happened to look back on a journal I'd written in just two years before, of five things I want to accomplish in 5 years-- and one of those five things were to be a Best Selling Author! I am so very thankful and extremely glad that I was obedient to THIS calling. What an opportunity I would have missed out on had I not allowed myself to be 'open to new relationships and ventures'. Life is about taking chances. Take the one that will make you shine and advance! I am truly--Living Life Like It's Golden!
